In his quest for success, Ayodele Odutayo has traveled far and wide, from Nigeria to the British Virgin Islands, then to Canada where he attained his dream.
The 24 year old medical student is a 2013 recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship, which is an internationally renowned postgraduate award.
A total of 83 students from universities around the world are chosen each year – 11 from Canada, including two from the province of Ontario, where Odutayo studies.
Odutayo attended St. George’s Primary in Tortola, and then BVI High school, before his family relocated from their TORTOLA HOME to Canada.
“I think the teaching I received in Tortola around the core subjects (Math, English, and Science) provided me with a very strong foundation and enabled me to succeed in Canada. I do remember that the music programme in BVI High school was amazing,” he said.
